PUBLIC SERVICE

I've served on the Champaign County Board from 1978 to 1994, and am proud that I didn’t miss any monthly meetings during my terms of office! In addition, I served as:

Democratic appointee to the Urbana-Champaign Sanitary District Board 1997-2005, (Board Chair for 5 years);

Secretary for 2 years and President for 5 years on the Board of Directors for the Champaign County Health Care Consumers; 

Member of the Board of Directors for Girls, Inc. of Champaign-Urbana 1986-1993;

President of the Champaign-Urbana Business Women’s Club since 2015 and member since 1982;

District Director, Chair of Nominations, Chair of the Legislation Committee, and Federation President for the Illinois Federation of Business Women’s Clubs;

Member of the East Central Illinois Elder Abuse Task Force since its inception in 1993;

Member of the Illinois State Bar Association, and an ISBA appointee from the ISBA to the Land of Lincoln Legal Assistance Foundation Board 1993-2005;

Member of the Champaign County Bar Association serving in several positions with the CCBA including Chair of the Family Law Committee, and on the Board of Governors 1995-1998, including a year as President;

Member of the East Central Illinois Women Attorneys’ Association;

Precinct Committeeperson, Election Judge, and volunteer in several Democratic candidate campaigns.

My experiences both as an attorney and as an active part of our community give me a solid foundation to be of public service to our county as Circuit Clerk. I seek your endorsement, and your support, for this position.
